I’m sorry that missed you all again today, but I found out on my way to school this morning that my baby daughter would be released from the hospital today to come home. I will see you tomorrow. As you learned in class today, I am extending the blog deadline until Friday morning at 9:30 am. Make sure you read the next paragraph before beginning your assignment.
Most that have commented have done a pretty good job. However, some have missed the point that I made about writing a short essay response. In other words – 2 or 3 sentences just does not get it. Exercise your brains and give me some great comments. This is not a completion exercise. I am looking for evidence of real thought. Every one of you has the ability to do quality work, but ability is worth nothing unless it’s put to use.
Beginning of Post
On Monday, you were assigned pages 101-106 to read as classwork - Time Reports: Our Shrinking World.
Combine what you learned from the Time Reports section with topics we have discussed in class concerning globalization - things such as cultural diffusion, emigration, and the movement of jobs and industries to other countries (Chapter 3 will be helpful here). After analyzing all of this information, write a thoughtful comment that addresses the following questions. Please do not feel that you are limited to just these questions. You can also include any well thought out ideas of your own.
- What is globalization?
- What are some of the benefits of globalization, for both Americans and non-Americans?
- Is globalization good for everyone? If not, who suffers in a globalized world?
- What are some of the things that young people today will have to do to prepare for life in a globalized world?

Globalization is the worldwide integration of economic, cultural, political, religious, and social system. Americans can benifit other countries and they can benifit us by making and shiping goods that we might need and we can do the same. Globalization is good for everyone because we can get goods that we can't grow. Some young people have to start finding a good job that they can stick to because a lot of people will loose their job due to globalization.
Globalization is when you introduce other cultures to the world through trade. Americans and non-Americand have benefits beacause they get introduced to other cultures through Globalization. No it is not good for everyone. It is not good for cultures that poor and are in need of money beacause they can't trade items. The way I think kids can prepare is they could learn about other cultures and about computers and learn foreighn languages.

Globalization is cultures mixing together. Example-Mc Donalds in China. It is important because it encourages trade and helps us communicate and expierience new things. Yet it also diminishes the native culture.
What is globolazation? Well it is where Amiriaca and oher countrys trade or purchase good such as food, clothing, etc. How we trade these good or suplise is we trade them by sea, plane, or truck.

For example, there's a McDonald's in China If we hadn't gone over there and introduced them McDonald's they wouldn't know what a Hamburger was. Some of the benefits of globalization for Americans And Non-Americans, sort of like the McDonald's in China attracts tourist because some tourist go places and want there regular food, same for Non-Americans.Globalization isn't good for everyone . Some people suffer. For example, Bhutan doesn't like tourist because they don't want American restaurants every where they go Bhutan is a very religious place. Something youth will have to prepare for in a globalized world is population growth and not as much space. Different foods Mare than one language spoken in a country.
Globalization is the way people live. It is also the way people are in contact with other people around the world. Because of globalization people are able to see the news of what is happening across the world in an instant, or being able to trade goods and build industries on the other side of the world because globalization is big presently. Globalization can be a benefit because people can quickly trade there goods around the world or go to other countries (it will not take them that long) and study the things and religions in things in their country. Also because of globalization people are able to build industries in other places on earth and sell their goods to the native people that live there, and people in that country that are working in that factory are also getting profit from this business, because they are getting a pay check and the person who owns the factory is getting money from selling his goods and the people that live there will work for a lower wage. But sometimes people can force you to work and you don’t get paid. Young people today will have to prepare to change quickly in what they do incase they loose their job, because the environment around them will be changing too.

Globalization is when you exchange clothing, food, money, etc. internationally and some people benefit from it and some people do not. Some countries that benefit from globalization are Bangladesh and America. For example, Bangladesh has one of the world’s largest clothing production lines that are sold all over the world. A country that hasn’t benefit from globalization lately is China because of all the recalls they had on toys having led poisoning which is killing little kids in America. The other thing that comes with globalization is that young people will have to learn how to talk different languages for there jobs because of how fast globalization is growing.
Globalization is the interconnection of people and places because of advances in transport, communication, and information technologies that causes political, economic, and cultural growth. It benefits Americans because we are building industries in other parts of the world which helps our economy. And because we are building industries in other countries that means that non Americans can have jobs that they would not be able to have if it weren't for the American industries. It isn't good for everyone because small countries cant compete with big countries like America. That can lead to poverty and war. As young people we have to learn foreign languages so we can communicate with people from other countries. We also need to learn as much about other cultures as we can because when we are adults we will probably be dealing more with other countries.
